Originally from Natchez, Mississippi, Givens is an independent filmmaker currently based in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has garnered acclaim for directing two award-winning documentaries: "Mississippi Madam: The Life of Nellie Jackson" and "The Saloon." Previously, he served as an art director at The New Orleans Times-Picayune, where he crafted memorable front pages, including those highlighting the New Orleans Saints and their playoff runs. Beyond filmmaking, Givens is passionate about graphic design, photography and exploring artistic creativity through his work and travels.
